Welcome to Jolkr. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
The short version: Be respectful, don't abuse the platform, and don't use Jolkr for anything illegal. We provide the service as-is and reserve the right to remove accounts that violate these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Jolkr ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Jolkr. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will terminate it immediately.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Jolkr to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other users
- Post or distribute illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Send spam, unsolicited advertising, or mass messages
- Impersonate other individuals or organizations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security measures
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission
5. Content
Your content: You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Jolkr. By posting content, you grant Jolkr a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
End-to-end encrypted content: Messages sent in encrypted conversations are not accessible to Jolkr. We cannot moderate, review, or take responsibility for encrypted content.
Content moderation: Server owners and their designated moderators are responsible for moderating content within their servers. Jolkr may remove content or accounts that violate these Terms when reported or discovered.
6. Server Ownership
- Server owners are responsible for managing their communities and enforcing rules within their servers
- Server owners must ensure their servers comply with these Terms and applicable laws
- Jolkr reserves the right to remove servers that repeatedly violate these Terms
7. Intellectual Property
The Jolkr name, logo, and branding are the property of Jolkr. You may not use our branding without prior written permission. The Jolkr platform source code is available under its respective license on GitHub.
8. Privacy
Your use of Jolkr is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you agree to our data practices as described in that policy.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through the application settings
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms
- We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in illegal activity
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
- We may retain minimal data as described in our Privacy Policy
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Jolkr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You use the Service at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jolkr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jolkr, its operators, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the Netherlands.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the application or by updating the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
